Welcome to the Penrhyn Castle Stables Cafe, nestled in the scenic surroundings of Llandygai, Bangor. This charming cafe, part of the National Trust, is not just a place to grab a bite; it’s a delightful experience that combines delectable food with the serene ambiance of nature.

As you step inside, the inviting atmosphere envelops you, enhanced by the rustic charm of the stables-turned-cafe. Natural light floods the space, accentuating the cozy decor and making it the perfect spot to unwind after exploring the breathtaking grounds of Penrhyn Castle.

The menu features a decent range of small lunch items, catering to various tastes and preferences. Recommendations from recent visitors include their sumptuous scones, which are a highlight for many. "Tasty scones, jam, and clotted cream" has been a commonly praised aspect, as noted by café-goer Angela Michelmore. Pair this with a properly brewed cup of tea, and you have a quintessential experience that warms both the heart and soul.

However, the experience isn't just about the food; it’s the people who bring it to life. Customer Chris Parry remarked on the helpfulness and courtesy of the staff, which adds an extra layer of warmth to your visit. Although there were moments of busyness as a staff member was in training, visitors appreciated the overall quality of service with Anna noting, "Food and drinks were lovely and what we expect from a National Trust cafe." This gives a true sense of the dedication the team has to ensuring every guest feels welcomed, even in busy times.

For those seeking a sweet respite while enjoying a picturesque view, the outdoor seating is simply divine, especially when basked in sunshine. Dawn Tobin shared a lovely moment post-parkrun, savoring a cuppa as the clouds parted to reveal stunning vistas, making it a perfect pitstop worth revisiting.

While the prices may be slightly higher due to the café's National Trust affiliation, the quality and experience provided justify the cost. Whether you're a local or a traveler exploring the beautiful North Wales region, the Penrhyn Castle Stables Cafe is a must-visit for a delightful refreshment amid nature's splendor.

So, the next time you're in Llandygai, make your way to this hidden gem. With friendly faces and a menu that caters to your cravings, you’ll find that the Penrhyn Castle Stables Cafe is more than just a cafe; it’s a destination to create lovely memories.

The cafe was very good, a little pricey but you expect to pay more from the National Trust. The two lads that were behind the counter were most helpful and very courteous. Enjoyed the experience.

Decent range of small lunch items, but a member of staff who was clearly only just being trained was left on her own for a while causing a queue to build up. Obviously not blaming her as we visited towards the start of the season, not sure why one young girl was left on her own in a busy cafe. Food and drinks were lovely and what we expect from a national trust cafe

We came here to do parkrun on our journey home from Caernarfon what a morning it absolutely poured down of rain so the views were of mist. We then finished and enjoyed a cuppa from the cafe and then the rain had stopped and the views appeared we will be back to explore as the route would of been stunning had the weather been sunny
